When this Name is attributed to Allah Almighty, as one of His Good Characteristics, with which He describes Himself, He is, according to lbn Al-Athir, the One Who opens, by His Decision, the gates of sustenance and mercy to such of His servants as He pleases, as well as He opens the sights of His servants, to see the truth, and follow the paths of peace.
This good characteristic is related to both power and knowledge: with the help of Allah’s Power, everything that is close comes to be opened, and with the help of His Right Guidance, every difficulty that is problematic comes to be solved.
Of a surety, Allah Almighty, with His Perfect Knowledge, opens the hearts of the believers to accept faith, as well as He opens to the disobedient ones the gate of His Forgiveness.
