Sleep is a sign of Allah, the Mighty, which proves the perfection of His Might, Blessing and Wisdom. Dua for sleep at night are prayers you said to ask Allah for protection before going to sleep.
There are so many sound and authentic duas (supplication) that you can say before sleeping that were narrated in the Prophet Muhammad SAW Sunnah.
However, it is better for you to do all that is mentioned concerning that, but if that is not possible, you should stick to what he is able to do of the most important thereof.
Dua Before Sleeping Bismika
When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wanted to sleep, he used to put his hand under his cheek he would say,

Bismika Allahumma amutu wa ahya.
Translation:
O Allah! With Your Name I die and live.
Bukhari 6324
Meaning, I die and live by Allah’s will.

What is referred to as death here and Allah knows best is the death of sleep, because sleep is also referred to as death or it is means the major death which is the departure of the soul from the body.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
When one of you goes to his bed, let him dust it with the inside of his lower garment, because he has no idea what has gotten on it since he left it.
Then you should say the next Dua before sleeping.
Transliteration
Bismika Rabbi wada’tu janbi wa bika arfa’uhu wa in amsakta nafsi farhamha wa in arsaltaha fahfazha bima tuhfaz bihi ‘ibadika al-saalihin.
Meaning in English
In Your name, my Lord, I lie down, and in Your name I rise. If You should take my soul then have mercy on it, and if You should return my soul then protect it as You protect Your righteous slaves.

Dua For Sleeping at Night
Al-Bara bin Azib reported:
Whenever Messenger of Allah SAW went to bed, he would lie down on his right side and recite the below Dua before sleeping.
Transliteration
Allahumma aslamtu nafsi ilaika, wa wajjahtu wajhi ilaika, wa fawwadtu amri ilaika, wa ’alja’tu zahri ilaika, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilaika, la malja’a wa la manja ilia ilaika. Amantu bikitabikal-ladhi anzalta, wa nabiyyikal-ladhi arsalta.
Meaning
O Allah! I have submitted myself to You, I have turned my face to You, committed my affairs to You, and depend on You for protection out of desire for You and out of fear of You (expecting Your reward and fearing Your punishment).
There is no refuge and no place of safety from You but with You. I believed in the Book You have revealed, and in the Prophet You have sent (i.e., Muhammad SAW]
Dua Before Going to Sleep
Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that when Allah’s Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) wanted to sleep, he would put his right hand under his right cheek and say three times,
Transliteration
Allahumma qini adhabaka yawma tab’ath ibadaka.

O Allah, protect me from Your punishment on the Day You resurrect Your slaves. Three times.

اللَّهمَّ إِنَّكَ خَلَقْتَ نَفْسِي وَأَنْتَ تَوَفَّاهَا لَكَ مَمَاتُهَا وَمَحْيَاهَا، إِنْ أَحْيَيْتَهَا فَاحْفَظْهَا، وَإِنْ أَمَتَّهَا فَاغْفِرْ لَهَا. اللَّهمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ العَافِيَةَ.
Dua Before Sleeping at Night
Abdullah ibn ‘Umar narrated that he instructed a man, when he went to his bed, to say:

Allahumma khalaqta nafsi wa anta tawaffaha, laka mamatuha wa mahyaya. In ahyaytaha fahfazha wa in amattaha faghfir laha. Allahumma inni asaluka al-afiyah.
Translation:
O Allah, You have created my soul and it is for You to take it in death. Its death and its life are in Your hand. If You cause it to live then protect it and if You cause it to die then forgive it. O Allah, I ask You to keep me safe and sound.
Did you hear that from Umar? a man asked.
He said, “From one who is superior to ‘Umar, from Allah’s Messenger” (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).
Dua For Going to Sleep
Suhayl said: When one of us wahted to sleep, Abu Salih would advise us to lie down on our right sides and say:

Allahumma Rabbas samaaati wa Rabbal ard wa Rabb al-‘arsh il-‘azim, Rabbana wa Rabba kulli shayin, Faliq al-habb wa’l-nawa wa munzil at-Tawrati wa’l-Injili wa’l-Furqan, a‘udhu bika min sharri kulli shayin anta akhidhun bi nasiyatihi.
Allahumma anta al-awwalu fa laysa qablaka shayun, wa anta al-akhiru fa laysa ba’daka shayun, wa anta az-zahiru fa laysa fawqaka shayun wa anta al-batin fa laysa dunaka shayun. Iqdi ‘anna al-dayna wa aghnina min al-faqri.
Translation In English
O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens, Lord of theMagnificent Throne, our Lord and Lord of all things.
Splitter of the seed and the date stone, Revealer of the Torah, the Bible and the Criterion (Qur’an); I seek Your protection from the evil of every thing You hold by the forehead. You are the First and there is nothing before You.
You are the Last and there is nothing after You. You are the Most High and there is nothing above
You.
You are the Most Near and nothing is closer than You; settle our debts for us and spare us from poverty.

What To Say Before Sleeping In Islam
Blowing into the palms of the cupped hands.
You should blow into the cupped palms and recite the three mu‘awwidhat [surahs seeking refuge with Allah or the last three surahs of the Quran]
When the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) went to bed at night, he would cup his hands together, blow into them, then recite Surah Falaq, Surah Nas and Surah Ikhlas Qul into them, then wipe his hands.
He used to repeat it three times.
The word blow in this context refers to spitting gently and drily.

Reciting Ayat al-Kursiy
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah have mercy on him) saif that when he was appointed in charge of protecting the Ramadan zakah gathered by Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
Someone entered the room and began rummaging through the food.
Abu Huraira grabbed his hand and said that he will definitely take him to Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).…
The one who arrived and rummaged through the food said to Abu Huraira,
When you go to bed, recite Ayat al Kursiy and Allah will protect you, and no devil will come near you till morning.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said,
He told you the truth even though he is a liar. That was a devil.
Bukhari 2311.
Reciting the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah.
Abu Mas’ud (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
Whoever recites the last two verses of Surah Baqarah every night, they will suffice him.”
Bukhari 5009 and Muslim 808.
The scholars differed on what “they shall suffice him” meant.
It was said that it meant that they would guard him from harm during the night, or that they would take the place of qiyam lail.
It’s possible that both are meant.

Reciting Surah al-Kafirun
The Messenger of Allah SAW said that we should recite Surah Kafirun then go to sleep at the end of it, for it is a disavowal of (shirk) polytheism.
It was narrated from Ali ibn Abi Talib, Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) requested a servant from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He SAW said,
Shall I not inform you about something that would be better for you?
When you go to sleep, glorify Allah (by saying Subhan Allah) thirty-three times, praise Allah (by saying Alhamdu Lillah) thirty-three times, and magnify Him (by saying Allahu akbar) thirty-four times.
Ali Radiyallahu Anhu said, since then, I have never stopped doing [that]. Not even on the night of Siffin, it was said. He stated, Not even on Siffin’s night.

Sleep Early
The Messenger of Allah SAW disliked sleeping before Isha salah, and talking after it.
Sleep With Wudu (Ablution)
The angels remain in the company of the one who sleeps with wudhu and say:
“O Allah, forgive your such and such servant for he slept in the state of purity.”
Sleep On Your Right Side
The Messenger of Allah SAW would sleep on his right side and place his right hand under his right cheek.
Do Not Sleep On Your Stomach
Abu Dharr said: “The Messenger of Allah SAW passed by me and I was lying on my stomach.
He nudged me with his foot and said: Junaydib! This is how the people of Hell lie.’
He SAW also said: “Allah dislikes that one sleeps in this manner.”
Cover Vessels And Say Bismillah
Close the doors and mention the name of Allah, for Shaytan does not open a closed door.
Tie up your waterskins and mention the name of Allah. Cover your vessels, even if you only put something over them, and extinguish your lamps.
Recite Quran Before Sleeping
- If anyone recites 10 verses at night regularly, he will not be recorded among the negligent.
- If anyone recites 100 verses at night, he will be recorded among those who are obedient to Allah.
- And if anyone recites 1,000 verses at night, he will be recorded amongst those who receive huge rewards.
