Commentary
O my Lord! Make me one who performs Salah, meaning preserving its obligations and limits.
The importance of the salah in Islam cannot be understated. It is the first pillar of Islam that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned after mentioning the testimony of faith, by which one becomes a Muslim.
It was made obligatory upon all the prophets and for all peoples. Allah has declared its obligatory status under majestic circumstances.

The status of prayer in Islam
Prayer occupies a great status in Islam that is not shared by any other act of worship. This is indicated by the following:
It is the pillar of the religion, which cannot stand without it. It is second in status to the Shahaadatayn (twin testimony of faith) as further proof of the soundness of a person’s belief and as visible evidence of the beliefs that reside in the heart.
Establishing prayer means performing prayer in full with all its words and actions, at the appointed times.
Prayer occupies a special position among other acts of worship because of the way in which it was enjoined.
Allaah erases sins by means of prayer. Prayer is the last part of religion to be lost, and if it is lost the whole religion is lost.
Muslim should be keen to perform the prayers on time, and not be lazy or take the matter lightly. Prayer is the first thing for which a person will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection.
This above-mentioned Dua is short yet powerful supplication to ask Allah to make us among who perform Salah, by preserving its obligations and limits.
We ask Allaah to help us to remember Him, give thanks to Him and to worship Him properly.
And (also) from my offspring, meaning make them among those who establish the prayer, as well.
Our Lord! And accept my invocation means all of my invocation which I invoked You with herein.
Benefits:
1- The importance of prayer, as it is singled out with supplication over other acts of worship.
2- The importance of seeking nearness in supplication through the lordship of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, because the acceptance of supplication is among its essential requirements.
3- The importance of insistence in supplication, and that it is one of the great causes for acceptance, as evidenced by the repetition of the term lordship (twice).
4- The supplicant should frequently ask Allah, the Most High, for the acceptance of his supplication.
5- Every supplicant should pray for himself, his parents, and his offspring.
6- The supplicant should focus his supplications on matters related to religion, as they are the most important objectives and needs for success in both worlds.
7- Supplication is the refuge of all prophets, messengers, righteous individuals, indeed, all of creation unanimously.
