Al Kabir Allah’s Name Meaning In English (The Incomparably Great)

Al Kabir Allah’s name means The Incomparably Great, the tremendous one, who is greater than everything. Everything else is insignificant before Him, He is greater than anything imagined by the creation, whatever they imagine, then He is greater than that.

Al Kabir Allah’s Name Meaning In English

This characteristic is of those unique to Allah Almighty, and it is not befitting for anyone of His servants to be described with it.

The Most Magnificent means the One of the Highest degree of Splendour, the utmost level of Glory, and the Loftiest position of Perfection.

He is the One, completely free of all wants, independent from any of His creatures; and if there is such as described as self-sufficient, none other than Allah Almighty is worthier and more convenient to attain this privilege.

He is too Magnificent, too Glorious, and Too outstanding to have such as like unto Him from amongst His creation.

Al Kabeer In Quran

From amongst the many places in which this Name is mentioned in the Qur’an, you might consider the following:

He knoweth the Unseen and that which is open: He is the Most Magnificent, the most High.

(Surah Ar-Ra’d 9)

Allah says in Surah Al Hajj verse 62

That is because Allah, He is the Reality: and those besides Him whom they invoke, they are but vain Falsehood: verily Allah is He, Most High, Most Magnificent.

You might observe here that this Name Al-Kabeer (the Most Magnificent) comes in association with the Name Al-‘Aliyy (the Most High), in view of the essential relationship between both.

As High, Supreme, and Lofty Allah Almighty is, He is further Magnificent, Splendid, Grand, and Great.

Sufficient for clear sign of His Magnificence is this immense universe:

• The heavens with their highness, loftiness and vastness,
• The earth with its spaciousness, firm mountains, abundant water, and all living beings, in addition to the celestial bodies between both the heavens and the earth; and all of that discloses manifestly Allah’s Great Power and Splendour.

Man, by nature, is accustomed to have the idea that the Lord Whom he should serve and worship should be the Greatest and the Most Magnificent of all things he knows and sees with his own eyes.

Take, for instance, the case of the Prophet Ibrahim: when he was showed by Allah Almighty the great dominion of both the heavens and the earth, and before he had been guided to know the reality of his Lord Almighty, he caught a glimpse of the celestial bodies of this universe, in search of a clear sign, with the help of which he might be able to lead his people aright.

Seeing that his Lord should be the greatest, he observed that the sun was the most magnificent thing available to him to see by the eye, and thus he thought it to be his Lord as Allah Almighty tells:

When he saw the sun rising in splendour, he said: This is my Lord; this is the greatest (of all). Since the Lord should endure in Glory and Magnificence, then, it is not befitting for him to set at all. For this reason, “when the sun set, he said: “O my people! I am indeed free from your (guilt) of giving partners to Allah.

(Al-An’am 78)

It is further remarkable that the inauguration of Adhan (call for the prayer) is to magnify Allah Almighty:

Allah is Greater (or More Magnificent), and this applies also to the prayer itself.

This affirms the fact that Allah is the Greatest, the Most Magnificent of all things.

Allah Almighty orders us in the Holy Qur’an to magnify Him in whichever state we are:

Yea, magnify Him for His greatness and glory!

(Surah Al-Isra 111)

Do you not see that whenever we are amazed by anything of wonder, we soon express our surprise by saying: Allah is Greater? that’s to say that whatever great, wonderful, marvelous the thing we admire is, there is the One, Who is Greater, More Magnificent.

How Does One Acquire The Good Manners Of That Name?

For this reason, it is not befitting for anyone to have the Majesty, Glory and Magnificence barring Allah Almighty, a fact which all of mankind should be well-acquainted with.

Sometimes, one might be described as a great; but such a greatness as belonging to man is, to be sure, incomplete, like all of his characteristics, since they are different not only among them, but one characteristic might be divergent within a single man, and changeable from time to time.

As to the celebration by that Name, the following supplication is momentous:

O Allah: Most Magnificent, Most High, Most Supreme: we ask You to grant us good and power, and to make us independent with You (of anyone else from amongst Your creatures), until we see none but You:

Be kind to us pertaining to both in such a way as You know it is fitting for Your devotees, and dress us the garments of (Your) Protection in our breaths and moments (of life i.e. in all of what we do and say), and make us (sincere) servants to You in all of our states, and grant us (some) knowledge from Your Presence, with the help of which we become straight in our life and death.
