Prophet Ibrahim AS was a prophet and messenger of Allah, and an ancestor to the Ishmaelite Arabs and Israelites. Ibrahim – peace be upon him – is considered the father of the prophets, and he used to supplicate a lot.
There are many Dua of Ibrahim in the Quran at different occasions and will be looking at some of the supplications.
Dua of Ibrahim for Makkah
Sayyidna Ibrahim – peace be upon him – made a supplication for Makka and its people, after no one inhabited it, because it was barren and unsuitable for agriculture.
Ibrahim invokes Allah to make Makkah an Area of Safety and Sustenance. Here is the dua
رَبِّ ٱجۡعَلۡ هَٰذَا بَلَدًا ءَامِنًا وَٱرۡزُقۡ أَهۡلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ مَنۡ ءَامَنَ مِنۡهُم بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِۖ قَالَ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَأُمَتِّعُهُۥ قَلِيلًا ثُمَّ أَضۡطَرُّهُۥٓ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ ٱلنَّارِۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ

Transliteration
Rabbi ijal hatha baladan aminan warzuqahlahu minaaththamarati man amana minhum billahi walyawmi al-akhiri qalawaman kafara faomatti’uhu qaleelan thumma adtarruhu ila athabinnari wabi’sa almaseer.
Meaning
My Lord, make this city (Makkah) a place of security and provide its people with fruits, such of them as believe in Allâh and the Last Day.” He (Allâh) answered: “As for him who disbelieves, I shall leave him in contentment for a while, then I shall compel him to the torment of the Fire, and worst indeed is that destination!” Surah Baqarah verse 126
Dua Ibrahim Surah Baqarah
There are quite a number of Dua Ibrahim in surah Baqarah and some of them include;
1. Surah Baqarah verse 128
رَبَّنَا وَٱجۡعَلۡنَا مُسۡلِمَيۡنِ لَكَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِنَآ أُمَّةً مُّسۡلِمَةً لَّكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبۡ عَلَيۡنَآۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Transliteration
Rabbana waj’alnamuslimayni laka wamin thurriyyatina ommatan muslimatan laka waarina manasikana watub alayna innaka anta attawwabu arraheem.

Meaning
Our Lord, and make us Muslims [in submission] to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation [in submission] to You. And show us our rites [of worship] and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of Repentance, the Merciful.
2. Surah Baqarah verse 129
Ibrahim’s Supplication that Allah sends the Prophet
رَبَّنَا وَٱبۡعَثۡ فِيهِمۡ رَسُولًا مِّنۡهُمۡ يَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ وَيُزَكِّيهِمۡۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
Dua Ibrahim Transliteration
Rabbana wab’ath feehimrasoolan minhum yatloo alayhim ayatika wayu allimuhumul kitaba wal hikmata wayuzakkeehim innaka anta al azeezu alhakeem.
Meaning
Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise.”
3. Surah Baqarah verse 127
رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلۡ مِنَّآۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
Rabbanataqabbal minna innaka anta assamee‘u al Aleem.
Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.
Ibrahim’s Supplication to Allah when He brought Isma`il to Makkah
رَبِّ ٱجۡعَلۡ هَٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدَ ءَامِنًا وَٱجۡنُبۡنِى وَبَنِىَّ أَن نَّعۡبُدَ ٱلۡأَصۡنَامَ
Rabbi ijal hathal balada aminan wajnubnee wabaniyya an na’buda al-asnam.
My Lord, make this city [i.e., Makkah] secure and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols. Surah Ibrahim verse 35
Dua Of Abraham For His Son (offsprings)
Abraham – peace be upon him – left the land of Iraq after he met his father and his people with denial and stubbornness.
He did not forget his father and prayed for him and sought forgiveness for him.
As he, peace be upon him, left his son and his wife in Mecca, which was a barren land in which there was no agriculture, he prayed to his Lord to provide them with fruits and to shelter people for them.
Indeed, Allah responded to him, and among these supplications as mentioned in the Qur’an are;
رَّبَّنَآ إِنِّىٓ أَسۡكَنتُ مِن ذُرِّيَّتِى بِوَادٍ غَيۡرِ ذِى زَرۡعٍ عِندَ بَيۡتِكَ ٱلۡمُحَرَّمِ رَبَّنَا لِيُقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَٱجۡعَلۡ أَفۡئِدَةً مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ تَهۡوِىٓ إِلَيۡهِمۡ وَٱرۡزُقۡهُم مِّنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَشۡكُرُونَ
Transliteration
Rabbana innee askantu min thurriyyatee biwadin ghayri thee zar’in inda baytika almuharrami Rabbana liyuqeemoo assalata fajalaf-idatan minannasi tahwee ilayhim warzuqhummina aththamarati la’allahum yashkuroon.
Meaning
Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants in an uncultivated valley near Your sacred House, our Lord, that they may establish prayer. So make hearts among the people incline toward them and provide for them from the fruits that they might be grateful. Surah Ibrahim verse 37
رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ تَعۡلَمُ مَا نُخۡفِى وَمَا نُعۡلِنُۗ وَمَا يَخۡفَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىۡءٍ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ
Transliteration
Rabbana innaka ta’lamu maa nukhfee wama nu’linu wama yakhfaa alaAllahi min shay-in fee al-ardi wala fee assama’
Meaning
Our Lord, indeed You know what we conceal and what we declare, and nothing is hidden from Allah on the earth or in the heaven. Surah Ibrahim verse 38
Dua Ibrahim in Salah
رَبِّ ٱجۡعَلۡنِى مُقِيمَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِىۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلۡ دُعَآءِ
Transliteration
Rabbij’alnee muqeemassalati wamin thurriyyatee Rabbana wataqabbal dua.
Meaning
My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication. Surah Ibrahim verse 40
Dua Ibrahim For His Father
رَبَّنَا ٱغۡفِرۡ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلۡحِسَابُ
Transliteration
Rabbana ighfir lee waliwalidayya walil mu’mineena yawma yaqoomul hisab.
Meaning
Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established.” Surah Ibrahim verse 41
Dua Of Ibrahim For Himself
The Prayer of Ibrahim for Himself and for His Father
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ* وَاجْعَل لِّي لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الْآخِرِينَ* وَاجْعَلْنِي مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِيمِ* وَاغْفِرْ لِأَبِي إِنَّهُ كَانَ مِنَ الضَّالِّينَ* وَلَا تُخْزِنِي يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ* يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ* إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللَّـهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
Transliteration
Rabbi hab lee hukman waalhiqneebissaliheen Waj’al lee lisana sidqin fee al-akhireen Waj’alnee min warathati jannatinna’eem Waghfir li-abee innahu kana minaddalleen Wala tukhzinee yawma yub’athoon Yawma la yanfa’u malun walabanoon Illa man ata Allahabiqalbin saleem.
Dua Of Ibrahim In English
[And he said], “My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous. And grant me a mention [i.e., reputation] of honor among later generations. And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure.And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected. The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children. But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart.”
Surah Shu’ara verses 83-89
رَبِّ هَبۡ لِى مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
Rabbi hablee mina assaliheen
My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous.”
رَبَّنَا لَا تَجۡعَلۡنَا فِتۡنَةً لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا رَبَّنَآۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
Transliteration
Rabbana la taj’alnafitnatan lillatheena kafaroo waghfir lanarabbana innaka anta alAAazeezu alhakeem.
Meaning
Our Lord, make us not [objects of] torment for the disbelievers and forgive us, our Lord. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.” Surah Mumtahanah verse 5
