Dua For Protection From Evil Eye

Muslim

Allah told His Prophet, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), to seek refuge with Him from the envier, as He said

“And from the evil of the envier when he envies.”

Al-Falaq 113:5

Everyone who casts the evil eye on someone else is envious, but not everyone who envies casts the evil eye on someone else is envious.

Because the word hasid (envie) had a broader connotation than ‘aain (one who casts an evil eye on another), finding refuge with Allah from one who envies also entails seeking refuge with Him from one who casts an evil eye on another.

The evil eye is like an arrow that shoots from the soul of the one who envies and the one who casts the evil eye on another, sometimes hitting and sometimes missing the one who is envied and on whom the evil eye is cast.

The arrow may affect the target if he is vulnerable and unprotected, but if the target is wary and armed, the arrow will have no impact and may even return on the one who fired it.

Hadith About Evil Eye

There are ahadith from the Prophet which speak of the effects of the evil eye.

  1. According to al-Sahihayn, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to tell ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) to recite ruqyah (incantation) for protection from the evil eye.
  • 2. The Prophet SAW said:

The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath.

Muslim, Ahmad, and al-Tirmidhi narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him).

3. Abu Dawud narrated that Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Whoever casts the evil eye on another will be ordered to do wudu, then the one who has been afflicted will wash himself” (with that water).

Because of the ahadith mentioned above and others, as well as supporting tales and other evidence, the majority of scholars believe that humans can be afflicted by the evil eye.

The Muslim must protect himself from the devils among the evil jinn and mankind by

  • Having a strong faith in Allah,
  • Putting his trust in Him,
  • Seeking refuge with Him, and beseeching Him,
  • Reciting the prayers for protection narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him),
  • Reciting al-Mu’awwadhatayn [the last two surahs of the Quran], Surat al-Ikhlas, Surat al-Fatihah, and ayat al-Kursi.

What Do To If You Are Afflicted With Evil Eye

If a person has been plagued by the evil eye, the person who cast the evil eye on him shall be compelled to wash himself for the sake of his brother.

  1. As a result, a vessel of water should be delivered, and he should put his hand in it and rinse his mouth out into it.
  2. Then he should wash his face in the vessel, then wash his right knee with his left hand in the vessel, then wash his left knee with his right hand in the vessel.
  3. Then he should wash his clothes from the inside out.
  4. The water should then be poured over the head of the person on whom he cast the evil eye, dumping it all at once from behind.
  5. Then, by Allah’s grace, he will be healed.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath.” (Muslim).

How To Protect Yourself From The Evil Eye

To protect yourself from the evil eye, you should:

  • Get closer to Allah;
  • Read the Quran;
  • Make a lot of dua;
  • Recite the adhkar; and use ruqyah, which is one of the most powerful medicines that every believer should use on a regular basis.

If you are tormented by the evil eye, you should follow the Shari’ah-recommended therapies, which include:

Reciting ruqyah.

The Prophet SAW said, “There is no ruqyah except in the case of the evil eye or fever.”

al-Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud.

There is no question that when a person is close to Allah, always remembering Him (dhikr), and reading the Quran, he is less likely to be afflicted by the evil eye and other forms of mischief from the devils of humanity and the jinn.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to seek refuge with Allah for himself, and reading the Book of Allah, especially the Mu’wwadhatayn (the last two Surahs of the Quran, al-Falaq and al-Nas), Surat al-Fatihah, and Ayat al-Kursiy [al-Baqarah 2:255], is the most powerful means of seeking refuge available to the Muslim.

Without a doubt, if a person continues to recite the adhkar (dhikr) for morning and evening, as well as the adhkar for going to sleep and other adhkars, he will be protected from the evil eye, as it will act as a fortress for him, by Allah’s grace.

As a result, everyone should make an effort to recite these adhkar.

One of the best treatments is the use of ruqyah , which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) permitted for protection from the evil eye and he instructed people to use it.

It was narrated that Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said:

The Messenger of Allah SAW commanded me, or he commanded (the people) to use ruqyah to deal with the evil eye. Bukhari

Conclusion

To protect yourself from the evil eye, you should:

  1. Recite ruqyah Ask the person who has cast the evil eye on another to wash,
  2. Then pour the water over the affected person.
  3. Make the above mentioned Duas.

And Allah knows best.
