Bismillahillazi la yadurru dua
Bismillahillazi la yadurru dua

This dua is one of the remembrance of Allah in the morning and in the evening.

These words are easy but their benefit is great. This is because the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah, the Blessed and The most High.

The act of mentioning His Name on anything brings blessings to such matter. Thus, it is recommended to mention Allah when eating.

You should say Bismillah (In the Name of Allah) when you want to eat, drink or have intimacy with your wife.

The act of mentioning Allah’s Name is legislated in many instances. But according to the correct opinion, it is obligatory for food and drink.

It is obligatory for one to say Bismillah (In the Name of Allah) when one is about to eat or drink based on the relevant instruction of the Prophet.

And the Prophet SAW stated that whoever does not mention the Name of Allah on his meal, the devil will join him in it.

Do not forget to say, every evening and morning this beautiful dua three times.

His saying: “And He is the All-Hearing and All- knowing.”As-Samee’ (the All- Hearing) and Al-Aleem (The All-Knowing) are from the Names of Allah.

As-Samee which is one of the Names of Allah, has two meanings: Firstly, As-Samee’ is One who grasp every sound; nothing is hidden from Allah, the Most High.

Allah hears every voice irrespective of its distance and faintness. You should avoid Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, hearing a word from you that does not please Him.

Endeavour to make Him hear what pleases Him from you, Blessed be He and The most High.

From the essence of His Name, As-Samee’, is that He hears supplication as stated by Ibrahim:

“Verily, my Lord is indeed the All-Hearer of invocations” [Ibrahim:39} that is, He responds to it.

He responds to the supplication of the oppressed even if he is a disbeliever. Accordingly, Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, responds to the supplication of the one under pressure on the ocean.

When waves cover them like shade, they would call upon Allah, with utmost sincerity to Him and faith in Him, and He would save them.

Allah responds to the supplication of the oppressed. The Prophet SAW said, “Fear the supplication of the oppressed because there is no barrier between it and Allah.”

He, the Blessed and Most High, answers the one who worships Him, praises Him and glorifies Him just as the one observing Salat says: “Allah hears the one who praises Him.”

As for Al-Aleem, The All-Knowing, it is also one of the Names of Allah. The knowledge of Allah, the Most High, is vast and encompasses everything.

He knows what is in the wombs. The keys of the unseen are five as mentioned in surah Luqman. The keys of all that which is hidden lies with Allah, the Mighty and Sublime.

A leaf would not fall from a tree but He knows it; Allah knows about a leaf, even if it is a tiny one, that drops from a tree in the farthermost part of a desert.

Since He knows the fallen item, He the Mighty and Sublime knows the event that precipitated it; He has knowledge of every thing.

For example, you reside in your city at present with no intention to travel to the west or east, but if Allah wants you to die in a land, He will create a need for you to be there.

This need will lead you to that land and you will die there.

The knowledge of Allah encompasses everything even what is in your heart. If you are thinking about something, Allah knows what goes on in your heart.

Allah, the Most High says:

“And indeed We have created man and We know what his ownself whispers to him” [Qaf: 16].

You should avoid hiding in your heart what Allah will make manifest; avoid concealing in your heart what does not please Allah, the Mighty and Sublime.

The important point is that this supplication is prescribed three times in the morning and in the evening.

Bismillahillazi La Yadurru

Bismillahillazi La Yadurru Hadith

Uthman bin Affan reported: The Messenger of Allah SAW said,

He who recites three times every morning and evening: Bismillahil ladhi la yadurru ma’as-mihi shai’un fil-ardi wa lafis-sama’i, wa Huwas-Sami’ul-Alim (In the Name of Allah with Whose Name there is protection against every kind of harm in the earth or in the heaven, and He is the All-Hearing and All-Knowing),’ nothing will harm him.

[Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi]

Commentary of Bismillahillazi La Yadurru Ma Asmihi

The Prophet (may peace be upon him) said that reciting this beautiful zikr three times in the morning and evening will safeguard a person from harm, misfortune, and no calamity shall befall him.

This supplication begins with the words

In the name of Allah, but does not clarify what we are we are uttering for.

This means that there is an implied meaning here, and this is common in most instances where we begin by mentioning Allah’s name, we imply something related to the action, for example,

  • before eating we say “In the name of Allah,” implying “In the name of Allah I eat,”
  • before reciting the Qur’an, we say “In the name of Allah,” implying “In the name of Allah I recite.”

There is an implied meaning in this supplication, in that we are truly saying, “In the name of Allah, I seek refuge.

In this supplication, we are not asking refuge or help from Allah directly, but rather via His beautiful name.

Such is Allah’s majesty that His name alone is sufficient for safety.

Nothing on earth can hurt you if you are protected by Allah’s name, whether it is a human, jinn, animal, electronic gadget, or anything else.

Nothing in the skies can hurt you if you are protected by Allah’s name, whether it is rain, wind, hurricane, lightning, or anything else.

Because Allah is “the All-Hearing,” He can hear all voices at the same time, no matter how low the voice or language.

He hears it, understands it, and responds if it calls to Him.

All of these connotations are encompassed within this name.

Allah is “the All-Knowing,” which means He knows everything, whether hidden or obvious, past, present, or future.

It is a protection not only from one thing, it is a protection from everything.

The prophet SAW said, no one who says this du’a every morning, after fajr and every evening, evening starts from asr

Bismillahillazi La Yadurru

Bismillah, in the name of Allah.

When we start anything in our life, when we start eating, when we start drinking, when we start the car, when we leave the house, when we start our job, when you open your business.

If you want baraka (blessings) on that day you start anything with Bismillah.

Nothing will harm with the name of Allah at all, neither from the sky nor from the earth.

What does that mean?

That means on that day, if there was a hurricane from the sky, if there was lightning, if there was heavy rain that will not harm you.

And nothing from the earth and on the earth, no earthquake, no jin, no human shayateen, no harmful foods, no accident, nothing will harm you.

Lam yaddrruhu shaiyn

Nothing will harm him or her. No harm will take place to that person.

In another narration, the prophet SAW said : No sudden affliction will take place on that day or on that night.

No heart attack, three times, 30 seconds full coverage. The deeper the certainty, the yaqeen in your heart, the higher the protection.

Anything that we hear, and it’s 100% authentic from the prophet SAW, you have to take it.

Say it every day and every night with certainty, with complete yaqeen, that you will get the protection of Allah and you will see the result.

May Allah protect us all.

Please teach it to your children.

Please teach it to your children from a young age so they can be protected from all that stuff that’s happening around them.

Points to Consider

Allah’s name is great, so invoke it before beginning any essential action, such as acts of worship, leaving the house, or beginning a task.

When saying this supplication, make sure your heart is present, that you are humble, and that you are mentioning Allah’s most beautiful names.

Be aware of the Almighty’s majesty so that you may actually benefit from this supplication.

Make sure you contemplate over Allah’s names, for Allah is “the All-Hearing”, so He hears you while you recite this supplication, and He is “the All-Knowing”, so He knows your need while you recite this supplication.

Imam Al-Qurtubi said “this is an authentic narration, and a true statement based upon textual proof and experience.

Since I heard it, I’ve taken precautions to ensure that nothing harms me until I leave it. When I was stung by a scorpion at night, I realised I had forgotten to repeat this supplication that night.
