Many people turn to Allah for guidance and support when it comes to finding their life partner. In Islam, dua for marriage or general dua is an essential practice for those seeking a spouse. It is a powerful tool that can help individuals find the right partner, overcome obstacles, and strengthen their relationship with Allah (SWT).

Is There Any Specific Dua For Marriage?

The short answer is there is not, as far as we know, any dua for marriage that has been reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), but you can pray to Allah to bless you with a righteous spouse.

Duas For Marriage

When asking Allah, you should raise your hands and you praise Allah and offer salutations to the prophet Muhammad SAW.

You should ask Allah to send you someone who fears Allah, who is practicing, and who would make you happy in this life and the hereafter.

When prophet Musa (AS) arrived at Madyan, he had nothing; no food, no shelter, nowhere to go.

But when he recited “RABBI INNEE LIMA ANZALTA ILAYYA MIN KHAIRIN FAQEER” which translates to “My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need.“, he was given a wife, a life, a purpose, a message, and a companion.

So, emulate prophet Musa and recite it, perhaps your wishes would be granted.

Duas For Marriage

The basic principle concerning the wording of dua (supplication) outside prescribed acts of worship is that there are no restrictions, and the one who is offering supplication may choose whatever supplication he likes and whatever best suits his aim.

  • Oh Allah, bless our marriage and let it be a means for us to become closer to You in love and devotion.
  • Oh Allah, let our marriage be a way for us and our families to enter Jannah.
  • Oh Allah, protect our marriage from the whispering of Shaytaan.
  • Oh Allah, give us the strength to live together in justice, equity, love and mercy.
  • Oh Allah, let our marriage bring untold blessings to us individually, to our families and our children.
  • Oh Allah, bless us with healthy children who will be a source of great joy and happiness.

This is the optimal guide for making any Supplication.

  • Make your heart present and completely focus on Allah
  • Humble yourself and submit to Allah.
  • Repent for your sins and ask for forgiveness.
  • Choose a time in which dua is readily accepted.
  • Start by praising Allah. Ask with persistence, love and fear.
  • Give adaqah before making dua.
  • Perform wudu (Ablution), face the qiblah and raise your hands.
  • Send salawat upon the Prophet SAW.
  • Ask Allah through His Oneness and Names.
