This blessed dua is one of the supplications of the people of knowledge and faith, which our Lord wrote for us in His book.
A clear indications of the importance of this Dua is that it will be recited until the Day of Resurrection..
[Our Lord, we have believed]: Here, you ask Allah in His Lordship, which requires response and care, and that the Lordship of God, Blessed and Exalted be He, is divided into two:
General: for all creatures with provision, management and reform, and
In particular: for His guardians that require preservation, care, answering, and reforming their conditions and affairs in their religion.
And their worldly affairs, for they invoked this lofty lordship, which necessitates the answering of their supplications.
Our sins: What is meant by all sins are minor and major sins.
And his saying: And save us from the torment of the Fire: That is, place a protection between us and the Fire, so that we may avoid this painful evil.
This supplication included: success in deeds, words, and morals that protect against the torment of the Fire, and victory in the abode of decision.

The benefits:
- Among the characteristics of the believers is their declaration of faith in God, the Blessed and Most High.
- One of the characteristics of the righteous is lack of self-admiration, and that they fall short in their request for forgiveness from God Almighty. Permissibility of begging with faith [Our Lord, we have believed. The more simplified a person is with Allah in addressing it, the more eager and dearer it is to him than what he prays for by way of brevity.
- The more you supplicate, the closer you become to Allah. The more you supplicate, the more it shows the person’s lack of his Lord.
- The importance of tawassul with righteous deeds in supplication, and that one of the greatest types of tawassul of all is tawassul with a servant’s faith in his Lord Almighty.
- The one who supplicates should be keen in his supplications to ask for forgiveness and protection from Hellfire, for whoever attains these two requirements will win in this world and the Hereafter. The more a servant supplicates, the more hopefully his supplication will be accepted.
