Surah Insan (man) is the 76th chapter of the Holy Qur’an with 31 verses. Other names of surah Al insan are al-Dahr, which means Endless time and Hal Ata which means Has There Not come.

Surah Al-Insan in Arabic

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

1. هَلْ أَتَى عَلَى الإِنسَانِ حِينٌ مِّنَ الدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْئًا مَّذْكُورًا.
2. إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا الإِنسَانَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا.
3. إِنَّا هَدَيْنَاهُ السَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا.
4. إِنَّا أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَافِرِينَ سَلاسِلا وَأَغْلالا وَسَعِيرًا.
5. إِنَّ الأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا.
6. عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ اللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًا.
7. يُوفُونَ بِالنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهُ مُسْتَطِيرًا.
8. وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَى حُبِّهِ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا.
9. إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَاء وَلا شُكُورًا.
10. إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا.
11. فَوَقَاهُمُ اللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّاهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا.
12. وَجَزَاهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا جَنَّةً وَحَرِيرًا.
13. مُتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا عَلَى الأَرَائِكِ لا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًا وَلا زَمْهَرِيرًا.
14. وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلالُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلا.

• وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِآنِيَةٍ مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا.
• قَوَارِيرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًا.
• وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلا.
• عَيْنًا فِيهَا تُسَمَّى سَلْسَبِيلا.
• وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنثُورًا.
• وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا.
• عَالِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ وَحُلُّوا أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ وَسَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًا طَهُورًا.
• إِنَّ هَذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَاء وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا.
• إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ تَنزِيلا.
• فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ آثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا.
• وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلا.
• وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَاسْجُدْ لَهُ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلا طَوِيلا.
• إِنَّ هَؤُلاء يُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَاءهُمْ يَوْمًا ثَقِيلا.
• نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَا أَسْرَهُمْ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَا أَمْثَالَهُمْ تَبْدِيلا.
• إِنَّ هَذِهِ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَن شَاء اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ سَبِيلا.
• وَمَا تَشَاؤُونَ إِلاَّ أَن يَشَاء اللَّهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا.
• يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَاء فِي رَحْمَتِهِ وَالظَّالِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا

• 1. Hal ataa ‘alal insaani heenum minad dahri lam yakun shai’am mazkooraa
• 2. Innaa khalaqnal insaana min nutfatin amshaajin nabta leehi faja’alnaahu samee’am baseeraa.
• 3. Innaa hadainaahus sabeela immaa shaakiranw wa immaa kafoora
• 4. Innaaa a’tadnaa lilkaa fireena salaasila wa aghlaalanw wa sa’eeraa
• 5. Innal abraara yashra boona min kaasin kaana mizaa juhaa kaafooraa
• 6. ‘Aynany yashrabu bihaa ‘ibaadul laahi yufajjiroonahaa tafjeeraa
• 7. Yoofoona binnazri wa yakhaafoona yawman kaana sharruhoo mustateeraa
• 8. Wa yut”imoonat ta’aama ‘alaa hubbihee miskeenanw wa yateemanw wa aseeraa.
• 9. Innaamaa nut’imukum li wajhil laahi laa nureedu minkum jazaaa’anw wa laa shukooraa
• 10. Innaa nakhaafu mir Rabbinna Yawman ‘aboosan qamtareeraa.

• 11. Fa waqaahumul laahu sharra zaalikal yawmi wa laqqaahum nadratanw wa surooraa
• 12. Wa jazaahum bimaa sabaroo janatanw wa hareeraa
• 13. Muttaki’eena feeha ‘alal araaa ‘iki laa yarawna feehaa shamsanw wa laa zamhareeraa
• 14. Wa daaniyatan ‘alaihim zilaaluhaa wa zullilat qutoofu haa tazleela
• 15. Wa yutaafu ‘alaihim bi aaniyatim min fiddatinw wa akwaabin kaanat qawaareeraa
• 16. Qawaareera min fiddatin qaddaroohaa taqdeeraa
• 17. Wa yuskawna feehaa kaasan kaana mizaajuhaa zanjabeelaa
• 18. ‘Aynan feeha tusammaa salsabeelaa.
• 19. Wa yatoofu ‘alaihim wildaanum mukhalladoona izaa ra aytahum hasibtahum lu’lu ‘am mansoora
• 20. Wa izaa ra ayta samma ra ayta na’eemanw wa mulkan kabeera.

• 21. ‘Aaliyahum siyaabu sundusin khudrunw wa istabraq, wa hullooo asaawira min fiddatinw wa saqaahum Rabbuhum sharaaban tahooraa
• 22. Innaa haazaa kaana lakum jazz ‘anw wa kaana sa’yukum mashkooraa.
• 23. Innaa nahnu nazzalnaa ‘alaikal quraana tanzeelaa
• 24. Fasbir lihukmi Rabbika wa laa tuti’ minhum aasiman aw kafooraa
• 25. Wazkuris ma Rabbika bukratanw wa aseelaa
• 26. Wa minal laili fasjud lahoo wa sabbihhu lailan taweelaa.
• 27. Inna haaa’ulaa’i yuhibboona ‘aajilata wa yazaroona waraaa’ahum yawman saqeelaa
• 28. Nahnu khalaqnaahum wa shadadnaaa asrahum wa izaa shi’naa baddalnaaa amsaala hum tabdeelaa
• 29. Inna haazihee tazkiratun fa man shaaa’at takhaza ilaa rabbihee sabeela
• 30. Wa maa tashaaa’oona illaa anyyashaaa’al laah; innal laahaa kaana’Aleeman Hakeema.
• 31. Yudkhilu mai yashaaa’u fee rahmatih; wazzaalimeena a’adda lahum ‘azaaban aleemaa.

Surah Insan Translation In English

• 1. Was there not a period of time when man was nothing worth mentioning?
• 2. Verily We have created man from a drop of mingled fluid, in order to test him. So We gave him hearing and sight.
• 3. Verily We have shown him the way, whether he is grateful or ungrateful.
• 4. Verily We have prepared for the disbelievers chains, iron collars and a raging fire.
• 5. Verily the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] mixed with camphor,
• 6. [drawn from] a spring from which the slaves of Allah will drink, making it flow wherever they wish.
• 7. They fulfil their vows and fear a day the evil of which will be widespread,
• 8. And they give food, despite their love for it, to the needy, orphans and captives,
• 9. [saying]: We feed you only for the sake of Allah; we seek of you neither recompense nor thanks.
• 10. Verily we fear from our Lord a grim and awful day.

• 11. Therefore Allah will protect them from the evil of that day, and will bestow upon them radiance and joy,
• 12. And will reward them for their patience and steadfastness with paradise and garments of silk.
• 13. Wherein they will recline on couches; they will feel neither scorching heat nor bitter cold.
• 14. Its shady branches will come down low over them, and its clusters [of fruit] will hang within easy reach.
• 15. Vessels of silver and goblets of crystal will be passed around among them,
• 16. Crystal-clear, made of silver, filled to exact measure.
• 17. Therein they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] mixed with ginger,
• 18. [drawn from] a spring therein called Salsabeel.
• 19. Immortal [servant] boys will circulate among them; if you saw them, you would think they were scattered pearls,
• 20. And if you were to look there [paradise], you would see bliss and a vast domain.

• 21. They will wear green garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them to drink a pure beverage.
• 22. [It will be said to them:] This is your reward, for your endeavours are appreciated.
• 23. Verily, it is We Who have sent down the Qur’an to you piecemeal.
• 24. So be patient with the decree of your Lord, and do not yield to any sinner or disbeliever among them.
• 25. And remember the name of your Lord morning and afternoon,
• 26. And during the night prostrate to Him, and glorify Him a long part of the night.
• 27. Verily these [disbelievers] love this present life and pay no heed to a day that will be arduous.
• 28. It is We Who created them and made them strong. If We so willed. We could replace them completely with others like them.
• 29. Verily this is a reminder; so let him who will, start his journey towards his Lord.
• 30. But you cannot will it unless Allah so wills. Verily Allah is All- Knowing, Most Wise.
• 31. He admits whomever He wills to His mercy, and for the wrongdoers He has prepared a painful punishment.
